Allotment Visit
A brilliant day of learning beyond the classroom as our pupils visited Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton’s allotment 🌱
The children had great fun getting hands-on, planting potatoes and onions and experiencing first-hand where our food comes from. There was plenty of teamwork, curiosity and a few muddy hands along the way!
What really stood out was the fantastic discussion around World War II and the Dig for Victory campaign. The children asked thoughtful questions and made great connections about why people were encouraged to grow their own food during this time. Their understanding and engagement were brilliant to see.
We were also so grateful for the lovely treats and the opportunity to see real-life artefacts from World War II — such a special way to bring history to life for the children.
A huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton for such a warm welcome and for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience!
