Coding in Action!
27th May 2026
Our class have been having great fun developing their coding skills through a range of exciting plugged and unplugged activities! The children explored grid references, directional language and right angles before taking their learning outdoors onto the playground. Working with a partner, they carefully gave and followed instructions to navigate around a large grid to different objects they had drawn themselves.
Back in the classroom, the children continued to build on their understanding of grid references through further practical activities. Today, they also enjoyed using the Micro:bits, where they created and entered simple codes to instruct the devices to display their names. It has been wonderful to see the children showing such enthusiasm, teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout their coding journey!
A big thank you also to our Digital Leaders, who did a fantastic job helping and supporting their classmates throughout the activities.
