Decimal Detectives & Extreme Earth Explorers
2nd Apr 2026
Primary 6 have been developing their understanding of converting fractions into decimals through a range of engaging activities. To bring their learning to life, pupils took part in an outdoor maths lesson, completing a decimal scavenger hunt where they worked together to match fractions with their decimal equivalents.
Back in the classroom, they also enjoyed a fun dice game where they created the largest possible number using units, tenths, hundredths and thousandths, helping to strengthen their understanding of place value.
Alongside their maths work, pupils have been focusing on report writing. They researched different extreme Earth events and used their findings to plan and write detailed and interesting reports.
