Our school was delighted to be selected for the Growing Club sessions funded by Mid and East Antrim Council. Today, we welcomed Mrs Bloom and Marlene, who guided us through an exciting morning of gardening.
During the session, pupils worked together to build two new planters and prepare them for planting. We planted Maris Piper potatoes and sowed carrot seeds. Our carrots should be ready to harvest in June, with the potatoes expected in the autumn.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we’re already looking forward to our next Growing Club session at the end of April!
