Today our classroom became a real-life mystery scene as the children stepped into the role of inference detectives! With chairs knocked over, muddy footprints, ripped worksheets and suspicious clues scattered around the room, the detectives had an important mission… solve the mystery!
Working in teams, the children examined evidence, discussed theories and used clues alongside their own knowledge to make inferences about what had happened. As new evidence appeared, our detectives had to rethink, debate and defend their ideas just like real investigators!
The excitement and teamwork throughout the lesson was amazing and it was fantastic to hear the children confidently using vocabulary such as clue, evidence, infer and conclusion during their investigations.
