Problem solving
27th Feb 2026
Today, P5 engaged in a structured problem‑solving activity using the IZAK9 cubes. Pupils began by constructing a number pattern based on the multiples of 3, working carefully and methodically to organise the cubes correctly.
Once the pattern was established, pupils applied their addition, subtraction and division knowledge to answer a series of questions linked to the numbers they had created. This activity encouraged clear reasoning, accuracy, and collaborative discussion, supporting the development of key numeracy skills.
