Primary 4 took their learning outdoors this week as part of Road Safety Week. Before going out, the children discussed the dangers of the road and why it is so important to stay on the footpath and be aware of their surroundings.
The class then carried out a traffic survey, counting the different colours of cars that passed our school. Back in the classroom, they used their results to create pictograms and bar charts to show their findings.
The children really enjoyed linking their data-handling work to a real-life investigation and developing their road-safety awareness at the same time.
