The Wheelie Big Challenge Workshop
18th Feb 2026
Today, we were delighted to welcome Aodhán from Eco-Schools to our school. During his visit, pupils took part in an engaging session all about the importance of recycling and making responsible choices both at home and in school.
Aodhán explained why reducing waste matters and shared some eye‑opening facts about how long everyday items take to break down. Did you know that a toothbrush can take up to 500 years to decompose? Learning facts like these helped pupils understand the impact that our choices can have on the environment.
As part of our ongoing Eco-Schools work, our Eco-Council will soon be carrying out a whole‑school waste audit. We plan to repeat this audit later and hope to see a positive improvement in how much we recycle as a school community.
We are excited to continue our Eco‑Schools journey and to work together to help protect our environment for the future.
