WW2 through the eyes of a child.
Our new topic, World War II, has truly captured the children’s imagination. They have fully immersed themselves in learning about wartime life through the eyes of a child, and it has been amazing to see their enthusiasm grow each day 💛
From cracking secret Morse code messages, to designing evacuee postcards and building their own Spitfire planes from junk materials, the classroom has been full of creativity, curiosity and excitement. The children have also loved stepping back in time to experience wartime playground games, bringing history to life in such a meaningful way.
To deepen their understanding of rationing, the children even made their own wartime-style cookies, exploring what life was really like for families during the war.
A brilliant start to what promises to be a very special topic
